Senator Janea Holmquist Newbry represents the 13th Legislative District.

Holmquist Newbry was elected to the Senate in 2006. She served in the House of Representatives from 2001-2006. She is currently the Ranking Member on the Labor, Commerce & Consumer Protection Committee, and serves on the Early Learning and K-12 and Environment, Water and Energy committees.

Raised in the Eastern Washington communities of George and Colville, Janea grew up on family farms, raising horses, cattle and hay. She currently resides in Moses Lake working as an independent insurance consultant with her husband Matt.
